RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- A severe thunderstorm watch was issued by the National Weather Service Friday afternoon for 10 central North Carolina counties.
At 1:51 p.m., the National Weather Service in Raleigh issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Harnett, Lee, Cumberland, Hoke, Sampson, Wayne, Edgecombe, Johnston, Moore and Wilson counties. The watch is in effect until 9 p.m. this evening.
Affected areas include Aberdeen, Angier, Buies Creek, Carthage, Clayton, Clinton, Dunn, Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Hope Mills, Sanford, Southern Pines and Wilson.
