Dense Fog Advisory issued through Tuesday morning for several counties in central NC

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — With the latest advisory from the National Weather Service, people should use caution while being outside, especially when going to voting polls, school or work.

The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory that is in effect until 10 a.m. in our viewing area. Visibility is only one-quarter to one-half a mile in dense fog.

Included in the advisory are:

  • Chatham
  • Cumberland
  • Durham
  • Edgecombe
  • Franklin
  • Granville
  • Halifax
  • Harnett
  • Hoke
  • Johnston
  • Lee
  • Moore
  • Nash
  • Orange
  • Person
  • Sampson
  • Vance
  • Wake
  • Warren
  • Wayne
  • Wilson

"If driving, slow down, use your low-beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you," the National Weather Service said. "Be especially cautious in school zones, and watch for children and the flashing lights of school buses."
