RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- While central North Carolina is under a CBS 17 Weather Alert Day Saturday, a flood advisory was issued for some areas with about three inches of rain expected, officials said.
A flood advisory was issued around 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. for Harnett, Lee and Moore counties, according to the National Weather Service in Raleigh.
Officials said Doppler radar indicated heavy rain from thunderstorms that are moving slowly in areas south of Raleigh.
"Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen," the advisory said.

Up to 1.5 more inches of rain is possible in the advisory area, the National Weather Service said.
Areas expected to have flooding include Sanford, Southern Pines, Lillington, Carthage, Pinehurst, Dunn, Angier, Erwin, Whispering Pines, Coats, Broadway, Robbins, Foxfire, Vass and Cameron.
