HENDERSON, N.C. (WNCN) — A few inches of snow fell in Henderson, creating a beautiful scene, but a very messy situation on the roads.
Plows could hardly keep up with fast-falling snow in Henderson. One driver ended up in a ditch while trying to navigate snow-covered roads, while others spun their wheels.
A very steep hill made for a dangerous situation on South Beckford Drive. After one car got stuck in the middle of the hill and another slid off the road to the side, traffic backed up as drivers slowly tried to make their way around.
The winter storm shut down most businesses for the day, but not Dionicio Martin Lopez’s food truck.
"It's very slow today," said Dinocio Martin Lopez, who wanted to open in case people needed a meal.
"Maybe some people want to buy food," he said. "Maybe they don't have electricity. Maybe they don't have a way how to cook, but we're here."
With snow falling all day long, Lopez knows the roads home will be rough.
