RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- As the CBS 17 Storm Team declares Sunday a Weather Alert day and deadly storms move into central North Carolina from the west, a wind advisory was announced by the National Weather Service.

The advisory was issued around 2:30 p.m. Saturday and is in effect from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service office in Raleigh.

The wind advisory is for all of central North Carolina.

South winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected, the advisory said.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured outdoor objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and result in scattered power outages," forecasters said in the advisory.

A wind advisory is also set for areas to the west of the Raleigh region for earlier in the day Sunday.

"Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution," the National Weather Service said.
