RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of central NC under a Level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather on Monday, which has prompted a CBS 17 Storm Team Alert Day.

A broken line of showers and thunderstorms will move in from the west during the afternoon and early evening hours, which will bring a mainly damaging wind threat.

We won't see much sunshine during the day on Monday, which should act to lower the overall threat.

The timeframe of the storms moving through will likely be around dinner time. We'll call it 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., but that will be refined as we get closer to Monday.

After the cold front swings through, spring-like weather will take over for Tuesday and Wednesday before the warmest weather of 2025 arrives by the end of the upcoming work week.

Stay with the CBS 17 Storm Team for the latest on Monday's severe weather threat.
