RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning in southwestern Durham County on Tuesday morning.
The warning went into effect at 8:10 a.m. and will lasted until 11:15 a.m.
NWS officials said radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the area. Between one and two inches of rain had fallen, while additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches were possible.

The flooding directly impacted creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, officials said.
Some locations affected include Durham, Chapel Hill, Bethesda, Parkwood, Research Triangle, Eno River State Park and Jordan Lake.
"Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads," the National Weather Service stated in its flash flood warning. "Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."
