RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — In response to the incoming snow and frigid cold approaching central North Carolina, some counties and town services have announced early closures and late openings between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning, cold weather advisory and winter weather advisory in multiple counties throughout the region from Tuesday evening until Wednesday morning.
While the CBS 17 Storm Team has issued an Alert Day for our viewers, some of the local government offices and services will close early to also prepare for the incoming snow.
Wake County
Most Wake County facilities that provide non-essential services — like libraries, parks and sanitation — will close at 4 p.m. Tuesday and reopen at noon Wednesday. Additionally, the Wake County Animal Shelter will close at 3 p.m. Tuesday and reopen at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Moore County
All governmental offices will be closing at 5 p.m. Tuesday and reopen at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. The county also announced that all events with the Parks and Recreation Department are canceled. There will be no in-home aid visitation by the Department of Aging/SEC. Moore County Transportation will be closed all day Wednesday.
