RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The National Weather Service in Raleigh issued a dense fog advisory across central North Carolina early Monday morning.
The advisory went into effect just before 5:50 a.m. and lasted until 9 a.m.
NWS officials said the following counties are affected:
- Person
- Granville
- Vance
- Warren
- Halifax
- Orange
- Durham
- Franklin
- Nash
- Edgecombe
- Chatham
- Wake
- Johnston
- Wilson
- Lee
- Harnett
- Wayne
- Cumberland
- Sampson

Impacts include low visibility that could make driving conditions hazardous. Visibility is limited to one-quarter mile or less in dense fog.
“If driving, slow down, use your low beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you,” NWS officials said in the Monday morning advisory. “Be especially cautious in school zones and watch for children and the flashing lights of school buses.”
