The National Weather Service has issued more advisories Wednesday following heavy rain damage in central NC

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — After a precautionary Flood Watch advisory from The National Weather Service Tuesday night, and an unforgiving storm pounding the region, more serious advisories have been issued in Central NC.

A Flood Warning is in effect until 8 a.m. for the following counties:

  • Chatham
  • Harnett
  • Lee
  • Wake.

Flash Flood Warnings are also in effect until 6:45 a.m. for the following counties:

  • Northern Franklin County
  • Halifax County
  • Northeastern Nash County
  • Vance County
  • Warren County
  • Central Person County (in effect until 8 a.m.)

All advisories issued have reported nearly 3 inches of rain in these areas, which will cause flooding near bodies of water and flood-prone roads.
