RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A portion of central North Carolina is under a Level 1 severe risk on Sunday night.
On Friday morning, the Storm Prediction Center placed areas mainly west of U.S. Highway 1 and along the I-85 corridor in the "Marginal Risk." This includes Orange and Durham counties.
The timing of the storms would mainly be after sunset on Sunday. One or two could bring gusty winds up to 60 miles per hour.

Most of the day on Sunday will be dry, so don't cancel plans, but keep an eye on the radar if you have outdoor plans.
Monday morning and afternoon will be wetter with a passing cold front. Widespread rain could leave behind 1 to 2 inches of rain by the time the system moves out of the area.
