RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — High pollen and high temperatures have been a theme this week with the temperature gauge at Raleigh-Durham International Airport hitting a new record on Friday.
The Triangle hit 90 degrees, making it not only the hottest first Friday of April on record since 1887 — but also the hottest day of the 2025 calendar year so far!
This 90 degree day is 20 degrees higher than the average high for this time of year, which is about 70.
As of 5:17 p.m. Friday, Raleigh was even warner than San Antonio, Texas where the Duke Blue Devils are in town to take on Houston in their Final 4 game tomorrow night on CBS 17.
